So my house is infested with rats…

While there may be only two of them they can tear through a bunch of cardboard pretty damn quickly when there is food hidden inside. I suspect they will not quite understand the concept of mazes until I find some sort of non-rat-permeable wall material.

I guess two isn’t exactly an infestation, especially since they live in a cage and are really friendly, but I’m sticking with it. My house is infested with rats. It’s awesome.

I’m only rat-sitting for a week or so, I want pet rats long term but it seemed wise to get a few loaner rats first and since they needed a place to crash it was a win win. They arrived with tiny backpacks full of rat food and some fleecy sleeping stuff so they are not unlike many of the couchsurfers I have hosted. They’re awake all night and prefer not to be picked up without warning, so they are exactly like couchsurfers now that I think about it.

More rat related updates will follow as they become less interested in the camera, no one really wants 300+ photos of a pair of rats voguing after all.

Upon being presented with a tube full of inaccessible food they immediately retreated to the water cooler to begin planning

Being rats however the plan mostly consisted of bite it while doing cute human things with your hands
